I’m a bit late on this roundup, so you get some links I’ve been collecting for a few days.

• A photographer for the Detroit Free Press was held for six and a half hours for filming an arrest on the street. A deputy chief said the department was “embarrassed.”
• The justice department says it’s less likely to spy on journalists, but limits who it says is a “journalist.”
• A freelance photographer for National Geographic in Kansas was arrested after paragliding over a feedlot there and photographing it from the air. Authorities say it was a matter of trespassing on the ground, and the state holds it a crime to enter a livestock facility to take pictures “with the intent to damage the enterprise.”
• Former Chronicle writer Ray Ring interviews Mary Vant Hull, the “Mayor of Burke Park” on the destruction wrought by unofficial trails at Peets Hill in Bozeman.
• A Blackfeet tribe member was arrested for comments made to Facebook. Tribal Ordinance 67 protects members from “allegetion of threats, slanderous material and misleading information.”
