Whether or not this map is real, it’s cool. It is supposed to be a movie studio map of California, put together to demonstrate all the different locales that could be simulated in the Golden State.
I grabbed the image from Random, Yes. Useful, No. It’s also been seen on Newsweek’s tumbleblog at A Whole Lotta Nothing and on the Flickr feed of Ambrosia Voyeur, where the map is identified as being used by the studios as a basis for bond financing in the late 1920s.
